Flowers For Weddings Frequently Asked Questions

What delivery date should I select?

We recommend choosing a delivery date at least 3 days before your wedding. This will give the flowers time to hydrate and bloom before the Big Day. It also allows a cushion if there are any unexpected weather or mechanical delays with shipping. Don’t worry, your flowers will still be fresh and beautiful for your Big Day!

How should I care for my wedding flowers?

Unpack the flowers from the box immediately upon arrival. Unwrap all tissue, sponges, and water tubes. Take note of the labels on each piece. Using floral sheers or scissors, trim each stem on the bouquets and centerpieces. Place directly in water, ensuring ribbons stay above the water level. Be sure to give the boutonnieres and corsages a fresh cut as well, before placing them back into the water tubes or new containers. Store in a refrigerator until just before event.

How far in advance should I order my wedding flowers?

You should order your wedding flowers at least one month in advance, to give the farm time to gather all the resources needed to create your hand-crafted florals.

How will my flowers ship?

Your flowers will arrive fresh from the farm itself. Pre-assembled wedding flowers will be designed and ready for use. Wholesale flowers and wholesale greens will be unprocessed in a protective wrap. We partner with an exclusive “Farm to Door” shipping program that implements unique cold chain procedures. A few days before your scheduled delivery date, you will receive an email confirming the shipment and the tracking information. We recommend having someone ready to receive the flowers and process them upon arrival. Keep in mind, we only ship in the continental US and we cannot ship to po boxes.

How will I know when my flower order ships?

You will receive a confirmation email after placing your order. A few days before your selected delivery date, you can expect a follow-up email with updated tracking information. We recommend having someone ready to receive the flowers and process them upon arrival.

What time will my flowers arrive?

Flowers are shipped via UPS or FedEx. Our service providers cannot guarantee a specific time and are unable to telephone recipients prior to delivery. However, most deliveries are made before noon. The day of your expected delivery, we recommend following the tracking updates and having someone available to receive and process the flowers upon arrival. In rare instances, products might be delivered the next business day due to weather or mechanical issues. If there looks to be a shipping delay, please notify us asap by calling (800) 281-0067. Be sure to call the service provider as well, as many times the central operators can reach out to your local facility.

Where do you ship?

We ship flowers throughout the continental United States and Hawaii. Unfortunately, we do not Alaska or other US territories at this time. We cannot ship to po boxes.

Why do some of my flowers look a bit sleepy?

It’s totally normal for your flowers to arrive a little thirsty after transit. It’s important to give them a fresh cut and set them in water to refresh immediately upon arrival. Within 24 hours they will refresh and perk up. If your flower comes with netting, we suggest leaving it in place for a few hours, until the stem strengthens. Store in a refrigerator for best freshness.

Will my wedding flowers look identical to the photos?

For the most part, yes! We try our best to recreate the wedding florals you fell in love with from the photos. However, as flowers are a natural product, head size, color shade, and bloom will vary slightly. Flower production depends on seasonality, weather, and growing conditions. On a rare instance that a specific flower is out of season or cannot be used, we will thoughtfully select the closest available substitute. Some flowers are also more delicate than others. Roses, for instance, can sometimes have slight browning on what the farm calls “guard petals”. Gently pluck off any spotty petals or blooms and they will be as good as new. If the flowers arrive damaged, please give us a call at (800) 281-0067 and provide pictures via email at contact@flowersforweddings.com. (See Refund Policy Below)

Can I cut the boutonnières and corsage stems?

The boutonniere and corsage stems are purposely left long, so the flower petals do not touch the water while hydrating. Remember to give them a little trim upon arrival and store in fresh water. We also recommend cutting the stems to the ribbon or to your desired length just before pinning on your wedding day.

Do you sell vases and other supplies?

Absolutely! Check out our must-have floral supplies such as a variety of vases, flower shears, rose thorn strippers, satin ribbon, and more. A definite for the DIY bride!

Any tips on making my own floral arrangement?

You can do it! First, you’ll need to gather a few supplies before getting started, such as a work table, buckets, vases, and floral shears. You might also need items such as rose thorn strippers, floral tape, and satin ribbon. Begin by creating a base for your arrangement with greenery. Next, add the focal flowers. Fill in any gaps with the remaining flowers and greens. Viola!
